In February 2026, the Eco-Industrial Parks Conference was held in Kyiv as one of the key annual events within the framework of the GEIPP-II Ukraine project, implemented by UNIDO with the support of the Government of Switzerland through SECO and in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The main theme of the conference was mobilizing capital for the development of EIPs and positioning them as a foundation of Ukraine’s post-war economy.
The event also addressed the following topics:
– Mobilizing funding for modernization (financial instruments and investment potential).
– ESG standards as a gateway to EU markets.
– Efficiency and savings (including real case studies from park residents).
– State support and policy incentives for industrial and eco-industrial parks.
In April 2025, the second Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) Forum was held in Kyiv, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) project “Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II – Ukraine,” with the support of the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
Over 200 participants — representatives of government, business, international organizations, and the media — discussed the following:
– National policy for EIP development;
– Ways to attract investments;
– Readiness of Ukrainian businesses to implement EIP principles.
The GEIPP Ukraine Project, both directly and in collaboration with other UNIDO initiatives, is fostering energy-efficient production and renewable energy integration at the Trivium packaging plant in the BVAK Industrial Park, Bila Tserkva.
