These recommendations can be applied at all stages of park development, regardless of its type. They cover issues related to park planning and design, construction, operational activities, market positioning and investment attraction, waste management, as well as energy supply and consumption.


The document, developed by UNIDO, GIZ, and the World Bank, presents a shared understanding among its authors of the concept of an “eco-industrial park,” along with the key requirements and performance criteria by which an industrial park can qualify as eco-industrial. This document serves as a guide for those interested in transforming industrial parks into eco-industrial parks, studying best practices in this field, promoting the eco-industrial park approach, and for those seeking to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and inclusivity of the industrial sector of the economy.

The handbook summarizes UNIDO’s technical expertise in developing and implementing projects in the field of eco-industrial parks and provides practical guidance in this area.


The course covers the importance of the circular economy, its principles, strategies, practices, business models, and ways to support its implementation at the national or community level. It includes practical examples from Ukraine and around the world.
The course is intended for representatives of government (at all levels), businesses, civil society, and anyone interested in circular economy issues in Ukraine. To take the course, registration on the UNIDO learning platform is required.
