On 16 October, a seminar on the key aspects of the Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) approach will be held in Lviv as part of the project “Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II – Ukraine Country Level intervention” (GEIPP–II Ukraine), implemented by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
Management companies of industrial parks, industrial zones, and clusters hosting manufacturing enterprises are invited to participate.
The aim of the event is to present the core principles of the Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) model and demonstrate its environmental and economic benefits for industrial parks with active resident companies.
The seminar will cover the following topics:
- The EIP concept, its benefits and advantages
- Industrial symbiosis concept, its benefits and advantages
- Successful international case studies on IP transformation in EIPs and on the development of Industrial Symbiosis
- Existing case studies of environmental and economic benefits of EIP and IS implementation
- Steps for the assessment of industrial parks against the EIP International Framework v2.0, using the UNIDO tools developed for this purpose
