Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II - Ukraine Country Level intervention

GEIPP-II Ukraine Project Presented at the Green Industrial Recovery of Ukraine Day

On October 28, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held the first-ever “Green Industrial Recovery of Ukraine Day”, featuring the presentation of the project “Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II – Ukraine Country-Level Intervention” (GEIPP-II Ukraine).

The event served as a platform to present UNIDO’s Green Industrial Recovery Programme for Ukraine (2024–2028) and to launch its flagship initiative – the “Green Industrial Recovery of Ukraine through Technology Transfer and Creation of New Enterprises with Japanese Private Companies” Project.

During the event, the GEIPP-II Ukraine team presented the project’s key components and achievements, in the Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) approach in Ukraine under the GEIPP-II Ukraine.

The GEIPP-II Ukraine Project is implemented by UNIDO in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

GEIPP-II Ukraine aims to demonstrate the advantages of the Eco-Industrial Park model – areas where enterprises collaborate to improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen the socio-economic development of communities.

The project approach combines three pillars: policy support, capacity building, and pilot projects – ensuring that progress at each level strengthens the others.

Since 2019, the project has achieved tangible impact. For every dollar invested by donors, nearly two dollars have been mobilized from Ukrainian stakeholders. Altogether, up to USD 4.86 million have been attracted for implementation of EIP related measures.
