Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II - Ukraine Country Level intervention

Online workshop “From Vision to Reality: Best Practices in Industrial Park Master Planning”

On December 3, 2025 (starting at 13:30 CET), the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) will hold an online workshop as part of its Best Practice Series to generate knowledge from present and past experiences of implementing initiatives within Industrial Parks to improve their social and environmental performance.

Industrial parks are critical enablers of inclusive and sustainable industrial development. However, many parks face challenges due to outdated, incomplete, or absent master plans.
A well-developed master plan is more than a layout—it is a strategic, comprehensive document that guides the planning, development, operation, and continuous improvement of industrial parks. It integrates economic, environmental, and social dimensions, aligning with national and regional development goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) has emphasized the importance of master planning as a foundational step toward transforming industrial parks into Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs). This Best Practice Series (BPS) session will showcase practical experiences, tools, and lessons learned from implementing the GEIPP Master Planning Guide across different countries and contexts.

This workshop aims to:

  • Highlight the importance of integrated and strategic master planning for industrial parks.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned from the application of the GEIPP Master Planning Guide.
  • Present tools and frameworks that support the development, implementation, and review of master plans.
  • Facilitate dialogue among stakeholders on challenges, opportunities, and innovations in industrial park planning.
