As of September 1, 2025, the National Standard for Eco-Industrial Parks (DSTU 9328:2025) entered into force.
This standard establishes a unified framework for the development of industrial parks based on environmental and resource-efficient practices, opening the way for sustainable and competitive industrial development and the introduction of cleaner production in Ukraine.
The standard provides a system for evaluating management effectiveness, process sustainability, and environmental impact using a compliance rating scale: “gold,” “silver,” or “bronze” levels. It defines clear criteria for transforming traditional industrial parks into modern eco-industrial parks, contributing to:
- Resource-efficient, clean, and environmentally responsible production.
- Economic growth of both the communities where the parks are located and the country as a whole.
- Reduction of waste and CO₂ emissions.
- Creation of industrial symbiosis among enterprises.
- Increased investment attractiveness and innovation.
- Development of the labor market.
Compliance with the Standard’s criteria will also enable Ukrainian manufacturers to expand trade relations in global markets.
The Standard was developed and implemented with the active support of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine within the framework of the second phase of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme “GEIPP-II Ukraine,” implemented by UNIDO and financed by the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
The Standard is available for purchase on the official website of the National Standardization Body, State Enterprize “UkrNDNC”.
