In 2022, due to the technical assistance of the GEIPP-Ukraine project, the Government of Ukraine has prioritized introducing the EIP model in Ukraine within the National Economy Strategy by 2030. This Strategy aims at ensuring the effective management and ecological, social, and economic performance of IPs in Ukraine.
On 24 February 2023, as a result of cooperation with the GEIPP-Ukraine project, the Government of Ukraine issued the Decree on adopting the Strategy for the Development of Industrial Parks until 2030 with the eco-industrial parks perspective and the Operational plan for the next three years for the Strategy realization.
The GEIPP-Ukraine project directly contributed to developing provisions on eco-industrial parks to the Strategy and the Operational Plan. The Strategy is designed to accelerate the transformation of industrial parks into drivers of economic growth for the country, particularly via the transition of industrial parks towards the eco-industrial park model.
