Eco-Industrial Parks Programme II - Ukraine Country Level intervention

Master Plan that Answers Investors’ Questions is an Industrial Park’s Key Asset

On 9–10 July, Khmelnytskyi hosted a two-day practical training under the GEIPP-II Ukraine project, titled “Strengthening the Competitiveness of Industrial Parks through the EIP Model: Master Planning and Feasibility Assessment”. The event brought together regional development agencies, industrial park initiators, and management companies of Ukrainian industrial parks.

The training focused on:
– The EIP model as a business-oriented approach to competitiveness, investment attractiveness, and resilience
– The master plan as a practical working document, aligned with the International Framework for Eco-Industrial Parks
– Feasibility assessment of new EIPs: gap analysis, market demand forecasting, risks
– Infrastructure and investment needs, and access to finance

Participants applied the UNIDO EIP Master Plan Review Tool and the Access to Finance (A2F) Tool to their own parks’ data. The outcome: priority measures to improve master planning and concrete next steps towards technically sound, financially attractive park projects.

All training materials, including the industrial park master plan template, are available free of charge here.

Thank you to the team of Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration and personally to the Deputy Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, Roman Uzhva, for their support.

The GEIPP-II Ukraine project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
