The GEIPP-II Ukraine team is proud to mark a significant milestone: on 19 November 2025, Ukraine’s progress in developing Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs) was highlighted and discussed at a COP30 side panel in Belém, Brazil.
For the first time, Ukraine’s EIP reforms and practical achievements were presented and debated at a global climate forum by high-level national representatives, strengthening the country’s position in the international dialogue on green industrial transformation.
The Ukrainian perspective was delivered by:
- Pavlo Kartashov – Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
- Artur Melezhyk – Head of Department, Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine (online).
They were joined by international partners contributing to the discussion:
- Julien Volery – Programme Manager, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Government of Switzerland.
- Christian Susan – Industrial Development Officer, UNIDO.
During the panel, the speakers discussed Ukraine’s key advancements, including:
How a strong national focus on enabling green investment, ESG compliance, and climate-aligned industrial recovery through EIP implementation can positively influence the country’s development.
Adoption of the National Standard for Eco-Industrial Parks (DSTU 9328:2025).
Integration of the EIP concept into major national strategies, including the National Economic Strategy 2030 and the Ukraine Facility Action Plan.
Tangible progress across seven Ukrainian industrial parks implementing EIP, RECP, and circular economy principles.
This recognition at COP30 represents a major achievement for Ukraine, signaling growing international awareness of its efforts toward sustainable industrial development and an EU-aligned green transition.
