As part of the project “Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme in Ukraine: Country-Level Intervention” (GEIPP – Ukraine), two more industrial parks have been selected to demonstrate the eco-industrial park (EIP) concept in Ukraine: Kalush Industrial HUB (an industrial park in the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast) and Molfar Industrial Park (Teresva urban village, Zakarpattia oblast).
On 6 September 2022, the UNIDO team visited Kalush Industrial HUB IP team and discussed together possible further steps. On 7 September, the team visited Molfar IP. The possibility of including the transformation of industrial parks into EIPs as part of the Regional Development Strategy was discussed, as well as the role of industrial parks in the western regions of Ukraine in the process of relocation of enterprises.
The project continues providing technical assistance also to the industrial parks already targeted for demonstration: Bila Tserkva Cargo Aviation Complex (Bila Tserkva), Patriot (Sumy) and Agromash (Zaporizhzhia).
