“Eco-industrial parks and industrial parks are, first of all, a tool to save industry now and build it in the future. It’s not just about solar panels or wind turbines, it’s also about saving, attracting investment, creating new quality jobs and economic growth” – said the national coordinator of the GEIPP-Ukraine project, Mr. Anton Kleschov, at the seminar dedicated to the development of eco-industrial parks, which took place at the Uzhhorod National University on July 29, 2022.
The event was attended by representatives of industrial parks, local and relocated businesses, as well as local authorities, who demonstrated their interest in the topic and confirmed their readiness to cooperate with each other for the creation of new parks according to the model of eco-industrial parks, and the transformation of existing ones according to model requirements.
The event was opened by Ms. Yuliya Skubak, Director of the Department of Investments of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, who once again assured of the Ministry’s support for the development of eco-industrial parks at the legislative level.
Mr. Valery Kyrylko and Mr. Serhiy Fedoryk are company representatives KEY Group, focused in more detail on the advantages of eco-industrial parks compared to traditional parks, in particular on their economic, environmental and social advantages. Also, the reputational advantages and innovativeness of eco-industrial parks were emphasized. The theory was supported by best practices from different parts of the world, in particular from South Korea, Japan, Austria and Turkey, which were carefully compared with the Ukrainian context.
The event was held as part of the GEIPP-Ukraine project. The event was organized by an engineering project management company KEY Group.
