On 24 February 2023, as a result of cooperation with the GEIPP-Ukraine project, the Government of Ukraine adopted Decree 176-р on the new Strategy for the Development of Industrial Parks for the period 2023 – 2030. The decree addresses also eco-industrial parks development and it includes an Operational plan for the next three years.
This Governmental decision will accelerate the transformation of industrial parks into drivers of economic growth for the country, including through the transition of conventional industrial parks towards the eco-industrial park model.
For the first time, the Strategy and the Operational plan introduce the eco-industrial park concept in national policy documents. The Strategy describes goals and principles to mainstream the eco-industrial park concept. The Operational plan assigns responsibilities within national and regional institutions to develop regulations as well as to design incentives to support the development of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine.
