On 27 May 2026, the first meeting of the National Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) Platform was held in Kyiv.
The meeting took place in a hybrid format and brought together 44 participants representing industrial parks, local self-government authorities, including initiators of industrial parks, service providers, development agencies, businesses, civil society organizations, international initiatives, and research and educational institutions.
During the meeting, the concept of the EIP Platform and the specific features of its functioning were presented, along with a brief overview of the activities of the GEIPP-II Ukraine project. Practical examples of implementing the EIP model, Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production, and industrial symbiosis in Ukrainian industrial parks and clusters were also presented. The meeting also addressed the integration of the EIP model into relevant public policies, particularly those related to industrial park development, as well as expected regulatory changes.
In addition, participants shared their views on the challenges and priorities for scaling up EIPs in Ukraine.
Meetings of the National Platform will be held on a regular basis, and their agendas will be developed taking into account proposals from participants.
